2014 Arctic Science Conference

The 2014 Arctic Science Conference will be held September 27th–28th in Kodiak, Alaska. The conference theme isResilience and Adaptation: Interdisciplinary Research, Communities, and Health.

The importance of the resilience of the people of the Arctic is little understood. Among the eight circumpolar nations are three of the four largest in the world in geographic area. The Arctic is becoming an important route for trade and commerce during the 21st century. It is necessary to observe and understand change in order to respond and adapt. Resource development and rapid climate change is impacting the demands on scientific research as holistic issues demand interdisciplinary approaches.

The Arctic Science Conference will include themes of interdisciplinary research, biomedical sciences, and artist impressions of the evolving north. Information about the planned conference agenda can be found on the conference overview page.
